Bureau is a new, purpose-built gallery, which launched in March 2006. The gallery promotes dynamic and exciting work by emerging and established artists, from the UK and internationally.

Complimentary to the exhibitions programme, Bureau regularly commissions new work and critical writing, presents performances, screenings, symposiums and off-site projects, exhibits at international art fairs, and collaborates on projects with other international galleries and organisations.

As part of 'Swap/Vaihto' Bureau opens to the public for an afternoon, providing an opportunity to meet the artists taking part in the residency, exhibition and exchange project, and to discuss their work in progress for the forthcoming exhibition.

As part of Swap/Vaihto, Hannu Karjalainen and Jaana Kokko, visiting artists from Finland, will discuss and present examples of their respective practices.
